Santillana del Mar, in the western coast of Cantabria, 90 minutes driving from Picos de Europa, 30 Kmts friom Santander (Airport), and 4 kmts. from one of the most beautifull coast of Spain and private and small beaches like Santa Justa beach.

This is one of the oldest village in this region, it becomes to exist in XI century with the Church "La Colegiata" witch was the first building and an important piece of the Romanic Art in Spain. Most of the houses were built betwen the XIV and the XVIII century.

And here, in Santillana del Mar, you can find one of the biggest cultural treasures, Altamira Caves with paintings engraved 20.000 years ago, in the Paleolithic age. But actually we just can visit the Museum with the great copy of the paintings inside.
